Lou Barletta Announces First Wave of Endorsements

Former Mayor and Congressman Lou Barletta, Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, today announced the first wave of endorsements supporting his gubernatorial campaign. Barletta rolled out a staggering 30 endorsements - including 11 Sheriffs - covering 25 counties across the Commonwealth, displaying Pennsylvanians' broad support for Lou’s plan to bring common sense back to the Commonwealth, and showcasing his strong statewide relationships across every region of Pennsylvania. “It’s an honor and a privilege to have leaders from across Pennsylvania joining our movement to restore common sense to our great Commonwealth, which has been decimated by the disastrous liberal policies of Governor Tom Wolf and Attorney General Josh Shapiro,” said Barletta. "Pennsylvanians are desperate for change and need a governor who will fight for them. Together, we will restore integrity to our elections, rebuild our economy, unleash our natural resources, support our men and women in law enforcement, and protect our children from being taught to hate one another by banning Critical Race Theory from being taught in our schools.” Local leaders were strong in their support for Barletta. “I’m a lifelong Democrat and, just as I did for President Trump in 2020, I’m proud to endorse Lou Barletta for Governor in 2022,” said City of Carbondale Mayor Justin Taylor. “There are some people who have that ‘it’ factor and Lou is definitely one of those people. Democrats think they are entitled to my vote because of my party registration. Lou Barletta actually earned my vote because he showed up and demonstrated his willingness to lead by example. Lou has the opportunity to be a transformational Governor for our Commonwealth and I could not be more excited to see the great things he will accomplish.” Venango County Sheriff Eric Foy said, “Public safety will play a major role in the 2022 election. The Radical Left’s ‘Defund the Police’ rhetoric is dangerous and has led to riots and looting in our streets. Tom Wolf and Josh Shapiro have abandoned us and endangered our communities in the process. I’m honored to join law enforcement across Pennsylvania in endorsing Lou Barletta for Governor. Lou is the law-and-order candidate who will respect the sacrifice we make, clean up our streets, combat the opioid epidemic, and keep our neighborhoods safe.” “I’ve known Lou Barletta for years. He’s been a great friend to Columbia County and I’m proud to endorse him. During his time in Congress, Lou was one of the few in DC who was actually able to get things done,” said Columbia County Commissioner Chris Young. “Lou helped Columbia County secure funding for a flood wall, and we are extremely grateful for his leadership over the years. I have no doubt in my mind that Lou Barletta will be the best Governor in the history of Pennsylvania!” A full list of endorsers can be found below: Sheriff Mike Slupe (Butler Co.)
