Former mayor and congressman Lou Barletta, leading Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, announced yet another state legislator endorsement today as State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) formally endorsed Barletta's campaign. Widely regarding as the most conservative member of the PA legislature, Metcalfe comes on board Barletta's team as a wave of elected officials from across the Commonwealth have rallied behind Barletta citing the need for the party to unify behind a candidate capable of winning a general election.
“We have a rare opportunity this year to correct the direction of the Commonwealth, but only if we nominate a Republican who can win in November," said State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe. "I first worked with Lou, while he was a mayor, in the fight against the illegal alien crime that was and is harming Pennsylvanians. From my experience of working with Lou, and knowing other candidates, Lou Barletta is the best one for the job!
